Digital Surveys provides a range of hydrographical, geophysical and oceanographic surveying services for the maritime community, civil engineers, ports, harbours, local authorities, utility and water companies.

Providing inshore hydrographic and bathymetric surveys for coastal area and river estuaries.

Utilising our 5.3m rib fitted with GPS and echo sounder we have worked on many projects for a range of clients. After data is collected, it has to undergo post-processing. A massive amount of data is collected during a typical Hydrographic survey, often several soundings per square foot. Depending on the final use (navigation charts, Digital Terrain Model, volume calculation for dredging, topography, Bathymetry) this data is then thinned out.

It must also be error corrected (bad soundings,) and corrected for the effects of tides, waves/heave, water level and water temperature differences (thermoclines.) Final output of charts can be created in a combination of software or CAD packages.

Data is then sent back to our main office via a blue tooth phone connection.
