Digital can provide high accuracy as built data capture using the latest 3D laser scanning phased based laser solutions. Design plans rarely give a true interpretation of an installation and for older facilities which have been constantly modified; they will probably bare no resemblance.
Laser scanning is able to quickly and very accurately capture exact dimensions and deformations of sites and equipment. From complex piping runs to manifolds and vessels we can capture the real life environment with minimal disruptions, preventing costly shut downs.
PLM Solution
Once the data has been processed Digital Surveys can provide a plant lifecycle management solution (PLM) to build upon the as-built survey data tagging it with additional information about parts, P&ID data and conditions, creating an intelligent database of assets also known as asset virtualization.
By centralising all the plant information in a database laser scan data, as built models, existing plant documentation and photographs can all be made available. Once this information is captured and stored, ongoing maintenance, refurb and retrofit becomes much easier allowing virtual testing and simulation, which in turn drastically reduces clashes, errors and rework.
