Archeaological Heritage and Conservation Surveys

Digital have worked in the Heritage sector for many years and provide a range of services. From traditional topographical and building surveys to more advanced photogrammetric and 3D laser scanning surveys.
We can provide a range of deliverables from detailed 2D plans and line drawings to high resolution ortho rectified photogrammetric images embedded in AutoCAD drawings at scales of up to 1:20. We also use short and long range 3D laser scanners for digital documentation of cultural heritage sites and artefacts.

Laser scanning is quickly becoming the preferred method of recording cultural heritage sites because of the speed of data acquisition and the many different ways the data can be utilised.
Once a site has been scanned we can generate detailed dimensionally accurate 3D models. These can be used to monitor stone erosion, accurately preserve a digital record of the current state of repair and create high quality casts of stone work and cornicing.
3D models can be post processed in 3D studio max to create photo realistic virtual models which can used for a variety of educational multimedia video and film uses.
We can also create high definition video fly bys and animations of the site in traditional or even 3D stereoscopic viewing.
