The Constable’s Tower – Alnwick Castle

The Constable’s Tower and external North wall of Alnwick Castle make up another section shortly to undergo ongoing conservation work. As a requirement of English Heritage up to date plans of the area need to be submitted. In the past this had been achieved through the use of photogrammetry.

Ever a progressive organisation, the Alnwick Estates commissioned Digital Surveys to proceed with a 3D laser survey to complement the existing work carried out to the main Keep.
The Laser scan data was then used to create high resolution colour and monochrome rectified plans from the point cloud data. Also high resolution visualisations and animations were also generated.
