Scanning the National Rail Museum in York

Digital Surveys were commissioned to carry out a detailed building survey of the National Rail Museum in York to a very demanding spec.

Using both traditional survey methods and 3D laser scanning a team of 4 surveyors were on site for 4 days. Using Sokkia reflector-less instruments, MBS software, a Leica Scan Station 2 and Leica’s new C10 Laser scanner we were able to rapidly document the Great Hall and surrounding buildings.
