Using conventional and HDS survey methods all the external work was completed in 4 days with internal floor plan measurements taking another 5. External elevations were then drawn up directly from the laser scan point cloud.
The Union building is a mix of classic and contemporary architecture and various refits in its life time have made the internal floor plans very complicated. Another 5 days office CAD work brought the project to a total of 14 working days from instruction to completion.
