Working with National Oilwell Varco Digital surveys have scanned hundreds of oil and industrial manifolds over the last three years in turn helping to improve their fabrication and QA process.

We began our relationship with NOV through what at the time was Anson a north east producer of valve and pumping systems, fluid end expendables, pressure control systems, flowline equipment, and wellheads. Based in Team Valley in the North East of England Anson were located just a few hundred metres from our offices at the time.

Anson approached Digital Surveys to see if our laser scanning equipment could assist in the measurement of critical dimensions on large Cement, Mud and Standpipe manifolds.

By scanning the manifolds pre and post weld any nozzles which were out of tolerance could be identified and adjusted. Since the service was introduced  NOV in Team valley it has also been rolled out to NOVs other regional workshops at Montrose and Morpeth. Laser scanning has now become an essential part of the QA process giving NOV and their clients peace of mind that their manifolds will fit first time onsite.

NOV work on a 24hour basis so any surveys need to be as unobtrusive as possible. NOV often work to very tight deadlines and our scan teams need to be ready to deploy with very little notice providing a prompt and quick turnaround of results.
